Tucson start point: Law Office Parking Lot at NW corner of Speedway/Tucson.

Departure time: 9:30, staging from 9:15 or so.

Our route will go east on I-10 towards Willcox, picking up the Eastsiders at the AZ-83 towards Sonoita exit, we will then hop back on I-10 and pick up any of the members from Sierra Vista and parts East at “the Thing” parking lot., this will also give a restroom break as well as possible photo op on the way down.

Lunch is planned at La Unica in Wilcox, 142 North Haskell Avenue, Willcox, Arizona 85643 at 11:30am. Please RSVP so that I can keep the restaurant advised of the headcount

Once we have lunch we will continue on to the Chiricahuas. Once there groups can head up to the summit as desired. Not all parking lots are big enough to fit our normal group sizes so it will likely not be a full caravan group. Recommended lookout points are at the top, Massai Point, which has a short nature walk of its own, Echo Canyon, and Sugarloaf. For those that want to stay and hike, there are a number of trails throughout the monument, the Visitor Center is open and has maps. The NPS App also has maps you can preview.

Drive back is route optional, I have done a more scenic route than I-10 through Elfrida and Sonoita and will have details of that route for those who would choose it.

The monument itself is a fee free area, so pack some sunscreen, some food, extra water if hiking, a shade hat, and a camera and come join us on Sunday June 23rd for a scenic drive.
