First, we drive, then we tour, and then we lunch! Start with a cooler morning 40 minute cruise on the beautiful Mission Road to Continental Road at Green Valley, and a quick blast back up I-19. Then we tour – a docent guided tour of the historic San Xavier del Bac Mission. Finish with lunch downtown at The Monica,
The mission was founded in 1692 by Jesuit missionary Father Eusebio Kino and completed in 1797. The mission is a masterpiece of Spanish Colonial architecture and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960. The mission is located on Tohono O’odham Nation in Tucson. Admission is free, although donations are encouraged to help with maintenance and upkeep. It’s an opportunity to experience a beautifully preserved landmark and an extraordinary piece of history.
The Mission is not air conditioned, so please dress accordingly. The Mission is handicap accessible. Only properly licensed service dogs, please.
Lunch at The Monica – Casual eatery, dishing up New American cuisine and cocktails.
